Drawing from travel and observations in the region of Yunnan, the furniture Masa Studio has designed for Zhuoyu is rooted in elemental form with subtle modern abstractions from the traditional. A hollow arc of a classic Chinese roof, evoking an arc moon curve translates as poetic lines of understated elegance and grounded archaic.

Forest Zephyr

Wanting to find inspiration in the local culture and lifestyle, Masa Studio noticed the basis of Pu’er tea production starts with the picking of tea leaves by women with distinctive round straw hats followed soon after by drying of the tea leaves in flat round straw trays. This circular motif then gets imprinted in the compressed tea cakes. This consistent use of a circular geometry, which creates the visual essence of Pu’er tea, naturally became the inspiration for their Forest Zephyr collection.
